Skuggi (the junction / estuary beat of the Grimsa) is an angler's paradise. In Icelandic Skuggi means “shadow”, and this perfectly captures the enchanting atmosphere of the beat.
Situated at the confluence of two rivers, Skuggi offers anglers a unique experience and boasts a range of opportunities. The convergence of the rivers creates intriguing currents and eddies, providing good habitat for a variety of species.
All of the salmon and sea trout that enter the Grimsa come through Skuggi. On a calm day, it is sometimes possible to see pods of fish moving upriver that have entered on a recent high tide. Fresh from the sea, these are the ultimate prize, famed for their size, strength and acrobatic displays.
Skuggi Lodge provides very comfortable self-catering accommodation and modern amenities.
Suggested Package: 1 night in Reykjavik, car hire, 4 days fishing.
