The British Virgin Islands each have their own special beauty and character, as well as magnificent scenery and great fishing – not to mention the fabulous rum punches.
Anegada has fly fishing for bonefish and a number of saltwater species including marlin and sailfish. Surrounded by the third largest coral reef in the world, it is well protected from the sea and its waters remain calm year-round. It has a variety of flats and mangroves which hold large bonefish, tarpon and permit. These can all be targeted on the fly either from the skiff or wading.
There are little more than 200 inhabitants on the island, which really does give it that untouched, desert island feel.
Virgin Gorda is ideal for a few days’ relaxation after fishing on Anegada; there is something for everyone, with incredible reefs and bays. Game fishing for marlin, wahoo, barracuda and tuna is exceptional and you can take one of the complimentary Boston Whaler boats to go tarpon fishing.
