From May to the end of October, schools of enormous golden dorado migrate into pristine mountain rivers in the Bolivian foothills of the Andes Mountains. Here you will be fly fishing for huge golden dorado up to 50lbs, pacú and yatorana, in both incomparable quantity and quality. The fishing is accessed by boats and you may be wading, fishing from the bank and gravel bars or from the boat. The Tsimane River operation is located in a National Park and can only be reached by charter flight from the capital, Santa Cruz.
It is remote but the accommodation is very comfortable and Tsimane offers three different programs: the Agua Negra, the Pluma & the Secure Camps.
All lodges have first class service, single rooms with private bathrooms, hot water and electricity, excellent food and beverages, WiFi, laundry and massages.
Suggested Package: 2 nights in Santa Cruz, charter flight, transfers, 7 nights full board with 6 days’ guided fishing. There is an Indian Communities and National Parks fee that is payable locally.
Agua Negra, the ‘jewel’ of the jungle operation, holds the best waters for sight casting.
Home to the largest variety of techniques and angling possibilities, Pluma Lodge offers anglers freestone-style fishing.
Located at the headwaters of the main river system, Secure Lodge offers a variety of waters for anglers.
