COSTA RICA

Large numbers of marlin arrive in July and roam the waters until the end of December. July and August record the largest black marlin and blues are often taken during the prime sailfish months. The roosterfish is one of the most exciting inshore and surf fish available. The volcanic shoreline holds them all year and fish between 20-40 lbs are common. Cubera snapper is the most popular of all the local snappers due to its size and sheer strength. Fish over 50lbs have been caught in the area year round.

Crocodile Bay Lodge is on the Peninsula de Osa and looks out at the Golfo Dulce in the south-west of Costa Rica. Accommodation is in spacious air-conditioned rooms with private bathrooms and decks. There is a restaurant, bar, swimming pool, jacuzzi and spa, all set in 44 acres of lush tropical gardens. The lodge has a good programme for non-fishing companions.

Suggested Package: 1 night in San Jose, transfers, internal flight, 7 nights full board, all drinks, 4 days’ fishing, based on 4 sharing a boat.
