THE LAPOILE, SALMON AND HUMBER RIVERS
Family-owned since 1967, the Salmon Hole Lodge is the only outfitting lodge on the beautiful Lapoile River accommodating eight guests in clean, comfortable cabins with a rustic “fish camp” atmosphere.
The Main Camp, which can accommodate six anglers, is strategically located overlooking one of the river’s prettiest pools and located five kilometres (three miles) upriver from the Atlantic Ocean, in the midst of the river’s finest salmon pools. The Lower Camp, with a capacity of two anglers, is located at the mouth of the Lapoile River and is only minutes away from the productive tidal pool. All meals are included and a separate building houses the generator, shower facilities and guides quarters.
Suggested Package: transfers, 6 nights full board, 5 days’ guided fishing and licence, car hire, 1 night in Deer Lake and 1 night bed and breakfast in Rose Blanche.
Ten to twelve thousand Atlantic salmon return each year to the Salmon and Humber Rivers close to Tuckamore Lodge. The season runs from late June to early September with the peak run being in July. Fish average 6-10 lbs but fish in the 20 lbs plus range are caught each year. You can also fish for Arctic char and brook trout.
The lodge is very comfortable and overlooks Tuckamore Lake. It has eight rooms with private bathrooms which connect to the main cedar lodge and four rooms with private bathrooms in the original fishing lodge. Excellent food is served.
Suggested Package: transfers, 6 nights on full board, 5 days’ fishing.
