JÖKLA

The Jökla river system runs a 100km course from the eastern slopes of the Vatnajokull glacier to the sea on the east coast. The fishery offers a great variety of both big pools as well as small streams and tributaries over 50 km of water for 6 to 8 rods.

It is one of a few rivers where catches of salmon have been increasing, thanks to a smolt release programme. As the river is large and powerful, it produces fish of a good average size, with many between 10 – 20lbs. It is best fished with a double handed rod between 12 – 14ft.

The comfortable fishing camp overlooks the River Kalda and offers full board accommodation in 8 cabins with private bathrooms, WiFi and a sauna.

Suggested Package: internal flights, transfers, 4 nights on full board, 3 full days’ and 2 half days’ fishing.
