BELIZE RIVER LODGE

The Belize River Lodge is located on the lush, green banks of the Belize Olde River, three and a half miles from the mouth of the river and the Caribbean Sea, with classic flats fishing. This beautiful historic mahogany lodge is situated in a tropical naturalist’s paradise. Relax and enjoy local hospitality and fine Belizean-Creole cuisine. In operation since 1960, this was the first fishing lodge in Belize and offers a variety of fishing experiences as well as customised eco-tours and the opportunity to explore Belize.

You’ll get shots at bonefish, tarpon, permit and snook, and this is an excellent place for those in pursuit of the Grand Slam. Belize River Lodge operates fishing and touring packages from the lodge, a live-aboard yacht, or for groups up to 6, a private beach residence, the Outpost Lodge on Long Caye.

These holidays are very good for anglers and non-fishing companions. Many species of birds and other wildlife, such as manatees, howler monkeys, turtles, iguanas and occasionally crocodiles, may be seen while fishing from Belize River Lodge.

Other activities

Diving, snorkelling, bird watching, horse riding and a range of full and half day tours. Belize River Lodge also has a nine-hole ‘jungle golf course’ with narrow fairways and tropical birds all around. The return to the lodge will bring you through Hummingbird Alley and past an inland blue hole, ideal for a refreshing dip late in the day.

Suggested Package: transfers from Belize City to the lodge, 7 nights full board and 6 days’ fishing.
