The idyllic village of La Ventana is located in the municipality of La Paz in the state of Baja California Sur, Mexico. It is on the eastern side of the Sea of Cortez, an angler’s paradise which offers some of the best saltwater fishing opportunities in the world. 

The most desired fish in this water is the Roosterfish. According to the International Game Fish Association (IGFA), the biggest Roosterfish caught to date in this water weighed approximately 52 Kilograms.

During the season, it is common to have multiple opportunities in a day to sight fish for medium to large-sized Roosterfish. Roosterfish are not easy to catch; the angler’s skill level and ability to keep calm under pressure will be key to success. 

Beyond Roosterfish, there will be opportunities to target amberjacks, grouper, jack crevalle, milkfish, snapper, Spanish mackerel, yellowtail and more.
